With a playoff win on the line, Wharton rose to the challenge  on Tuesday. They never let the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls get on the board and left with  a   6-0  victory. Considering the Wildcats have won ten games by more than five  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past  Connor Evans, who gave up just  three  hits to keep Wiregrass Ranch off the board. Evans has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Chase Andress and  Drew Cobb did most of the damage at the plate:  Andress  went 2-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI, while  Cobb  went 2-for-3 with one  home run and two  runs. Those  three  RBI gave  Andress a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Justis Meadows, who  went 1-for-3 with one  triple and one  run.
Wharton's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record  this season.
 Wharton will challenge Sunlake at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Wildcats 2.8, the Seahawks 3.3) so any  runs scored will be well earned. Wiregrass Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
