Eldorado and West Mesa are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2021, but likely not for long. Eldorado will be playing in front of their home fans against West Mesa at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Eldorado beats West Mesa with 19 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Eldorado put the hurt on Los Alamos with a sharp 19-8 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.
Gigi Medina-Vigil was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Zamora, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, West Mesa was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over St. Pius X.
Nevaeh 'Slim' Ortiz made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Ortiz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She also put up two doubles, which were her first of the season.
