The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Durango is ranked 128th, while Grand Junction Central is ranked 130th).
Last Saturday, Durango came up short against Eagle Valley and fell 61-50.
Grand Junction Central posted their biggest victory since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past Battle Mountain, posting a 71-37 win at home. Grand Junction Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 25 points or more this season.
Grand Junction Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryland Nostrand, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Camren Redding, who scored 15 points along with eight assists.
Durango's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Grand Junction Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Durango, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-32 loss to Grand Junction Central in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Durango avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
