The Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays were the 69-66 winner over the Northern Cambria Colts when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Conemaugh Valley fell 54-45 to the Colts on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Conemaugh Valley has scored all season.
Several Blue Jays players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaylen Henry, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Percinsky, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.
Conemaugh Valley's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-3. As for Northern Cambria, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conemaugh Valley will challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. River Valley will stroll in with a five game home winning streak, but they should still watch out: the last time they lost at home was their January 10 matchup with Conemaugh Valley. As for Northern Cambria, they will head out on the road to challenge the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Blacklick Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Thursday.
