The result came thanks to Paisley Dixon's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, High Point Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Landyn Smith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs Smith has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Laci Jarrell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.
High Point Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .415. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Covenant Day won against Hickory Grove Christian on Monday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Covenant Day put the hurt on Ambassador Christian School with a sharp 13-1 win.
The team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Allen, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Avery Houseton, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Covenant Day's victory bumped their record up to 11-1-1. As for High Point Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. High Point Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like Covenant Day struggles in that department as they've averaged .387. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
