Baseball Recap: Thompson Wins Going Away Against Haralson County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thompson). They put the hurt on the Haralson County Rebels with a sharp 23-7 victory on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Cooper Fuller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fuller was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Thompson let Austin Barnett and Hayden Craycraft loose on the outfield. Barnett scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Craycraft scored five runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, Craycraft also posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Williams, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Thompson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Thompson back to even at 2-2. As for Haralson County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Thompson will square off against Oxford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Haralson County, they will face off against Cherokee County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
