Notasulga extended the longest winning streak in 1A Region 4 this week by beating Wadley, 48-38. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Blue Devils.
St. Jude Educational Institute took down Fayetteville 46-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Notasulga's dynamic duo of Cedarius Alexander and Martavious Brown proved tough for the Bulldogs to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Alexander threw for 152 yards and Brown had 68 yards receiving. Alexander Woodard helped Notasulga's passing attack out by catching two balls for 52 yards.
Cardri Duncan was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 300 yards as Winterboro beat Wadley. Teammate Taylor Garrett added to the ground attack by rushing for 68 yards.
The Pirates' Tony Minefield and Kendall Richardson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Minefield has thrown for 1283 yards this season, while Richardson, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 21 catches for 473 yards. The Blue Devils' Marlon Page leads the league in rushing yards with 1110.
The Bulldogs made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,924 from 13,003. The improvement was the result of 36-14 victory over Verbena last week.
