Softball Recap: Stone Ridge Christian Wins Going Away Against Riverbank

Stone Ridge Christian lost to Riverbank back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Stone Ridge Christian Knights put the hurt on the Riverbank Bruins with a sharp 23-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Emma Quisenberry and Hayden Quisenberry made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Quisenberry struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Hayden tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Emma has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. At the plate, Quisenberry went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs, while Hayden scored five runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those seven RBI gave Emma a new career-high.

In other batting news, Paige Skeen was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Pope, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Stone Ridge Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverbank only posted an OBP of .118.

Stone Ridge Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Riverbank, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7-1 record this season.

Stone Ridge Christian has already played their next game, a 12-6 defeat against Hilmar on the 10th. As for Riverbank, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-0 loss against Escalon on the 6th.
