It was a good run, but the Meeteetse Longhorns unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 48-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Non Varsity Opponent. Meeteetse was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Non Varsity Opponent apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Max Potas, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Ethan Salzman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Meeteetse's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 112-208-1 record this season.
Meeteetse will head out on the road to face off against Dubois at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Banner County at 2:00 p.m. on January 26th.
