Mt. Shasta is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Etna is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bears will host the Lions at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Shasta will be strutting in after a victory while Etna will be coming in after a loss.
Mt. Shasta's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Fall River. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won five contests by 13 runs or more so far this season.
Emily Pigoni made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
