It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Raymondville Bearkats can now relate to. They were outmatched by Orange Grove on the road and fell 44-15. Raymondville was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Despite the loss, Raymondville still got an impressive performance from Luis De La Paz, who threw for 93 yards and two touchdowns.
It was another big night for Logan Rodriguez, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 204 yards and a touchdown. Rodriguez is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Diego Garza was in the mix as well, providing Orange Grove with two touchdowns.
Raymondville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Orange Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Raymondville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Orange Grove will face off against Wimberley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wimberley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
