The Middleton Tigers had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Armwood by a score of 48-36 on Wednesday. This was payback for Middleton, who suffered a 62-51 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Middleton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Felix Harrell, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harrell has scored all season. Antonio Lewis Jr was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Armwood lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Talon Mckinnie, who scored ten points along with two steals. Mckinnie is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Abe Diallo, who scored two points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Middleton's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-13. As for Armwood, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middleton and Jefferson will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Jefferson is on a five-game streak of home losses, Middleton a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Armwood will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Newsome at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Newsome aren't just struggling at home either: they haven't won a game anywhere since December 27, 2023.
