Quince Orchard and the Screamin' Eagles are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Quince Orchard Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Quince Orchard is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Even though Quince Orchard has not done well against the Trojans recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Quince Orchard sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 win over the Trojans. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Quince Orchard has scored all season.
Seneca Valley proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 35) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Northwest 56-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Seneca Valley.
Seneca Valley can attribute much of their success to Bryan Sowell, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, and Jaysen Moise, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Moise is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Olanrewaju, who scored six points along with two steals.
Quince Orchard now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Seneca Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Everything went Quince Orchard's way against the Screamin' Eagles in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the Cougars made off with a 53-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Quince Orchard since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
