St. Edward is 0-10 against Burwell since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The St. Edward Beavers will be staying on the road  to face off against the Burwell Longhorns at 7:30  p.m.  on December 15th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 On Tuesday, St. Edward came up short against Winside  and fell  43-33.
 Despite their  defeat, St. Edward saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Anthony Reader, who  scored 21 points along with five  rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The  matchup was  Reader's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Marcos Paez, who  scored four points along with ten  rebounds and three  steals.
 Even though they lost, St. Edward  were smashing the offensive glass and  finished the game with 13  offensive rebounds. That's the most  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 Meanwhile,  this season hasn't been kind to Burwell, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They had to suffer through a rough  64-37 loss at the hands of West Holt.
 St. Edward's defeat was  their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Burwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
 St. Edward came up short against Burwell in their previous meeting  back in December of 2022, falling  52-43. Thankfully for St. Edward,  Devin Konicek (who  scored 13 points along with five  rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
