Basketball Recap: Fairfax Piles Up the Points Against Central

Fairfax lost to Central back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Fairfax Stampede breezed by the Central Bobcats to the tune of 69-24. The Stampede have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 35 points or more this season.

Fairfax got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mayega Enow out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Enow is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mel Romero, who went 7 for 14 en route to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Fairfax smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Fairfax and bumps their season record up to 7-8. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Fairfax didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-20 victory against Carl Hayden Community on the 21st. As for Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-28 loss against Metro Tech on the 21st.
