Ware Shoals is 2-8 against Abbeville since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ware Shoals Hornets will face off against the Abbeville Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ware Shoals comes in on four and Abbeville on seven.
If Ware Shoals beats Abbeville with 20 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Ware Shoals didn't even let Calhoun Falls Charter on the board on Friday, marking Ware Shoals' second-straight 20-0 shutout. Considering the Hornets have won four contests by more than 11 runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Dalton Boyter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Ware Shoals let Brayden Madden and Jayden Johnson run wild. Madden scored three runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Johnson went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Madden has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Goode, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Ware Shoals always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .808. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, while Abbeville put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Thornwell. Abbeville put the hurt on Thornwell with a sharp 17-0 victory. The match marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season so far.
Adam Beiler was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Tyrique Cunningham, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2.
Abbeville pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Ware Shoals, their record now sits at 8-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ware Shoals hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like Abbeville struggles in that department as they've averaged .340. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
