The Los Altos Eagles will square off against the Menlo-Atherton M-A BEARS at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
If Los Altos beats Menlo-Atherton with 14 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Eagles beat Fremont on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-3. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Makayla Mase was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Monica Oseguera was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Los Altos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Menlo-Atherton). Everything went their way against Lynbrook on Tuesday as they made off with a 19-2 victory. Considering the M-A BEARS have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Elise Koo looked comfortable as she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Carey Maletis was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracy Nava, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Menlo-Atherton's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Los Altos, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5-2.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Los Altos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Menlo-Atherton struggles in that department as they've averaged .417. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
