The Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots lost against the Incarnate Word Academy Angels back in December of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Mission Veterans Memorial was beaten by Incarnate Word Academy 54-22. While losing is never fun, Mission Veterans Memorial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 908th, while Incarnate Word Academy is ranked 332nd).
It was another big night for Emma Romanczyk, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds for Incarnate Word Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Brown, who scored ten points.
Mission Veterans Memorial has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Incarnate Word Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.
Mission Veterans Memorial will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Roma at 1:30 p.m. on December 29th. Incarnate Word Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tuloso-Midway at 4:00 p.m. on December 8th. Tuloso-Midway is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
