Friday just wasn't the day for Hope Christian's offense. They fell just short of the Albuquerque Academy Chargers by a score of 2-0 on Friday. The Huskies' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Jacob Gergen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Hope Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Albuquerque Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hope Christian will venture away from home to take on Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Albuquerque Academy, they will head out to square off against Atrisco Heritage Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Chargers are facing the Jaguars at the right time seeing as the Jaguars are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
