Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 66-38 blowout they got on the road against Genoa-Hugo/Karval. With Limon ahead 39-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
It was another big night for Jordan Rockwell, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Treyton Marx, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two blocks.
Genoa-Hugo/Karval's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Trey Smith, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Dane Lockhart who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 50% of Genoa-Hugo/Karval's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Limon now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Limon will be playing at home against Dolores Huerta Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Dolores Huerta Prep is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, they will head out on the road to challenge Calhan at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Calhan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 back in December of 2023.
