Meanwhile, a win for Monache just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They came up short against Porterville, falling 27-7. The Marauders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
D.J. Shimer put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 133 yards. Gryphen Speck got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Monache's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Lompoc, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
