Douglas has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Reno Huskies at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Douglas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Douglas faced Elko in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Douglas really took it to Elko for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-26 win at home. Douglas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matches by 21 points or more this season.
Douglas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ashlyn Greenfield, who scored 7 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Aleeah Weaver, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-30, which was the final score in Reno's tilt against Spanish Springs on Tuesday. Reno was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-14.
Grants Pass' victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Douglas' defeat dropped theirs to 4-2.
Douglas suffered a grim 63-38 defeat to Reno when the teams last played back in January. Can Douglas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
