After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Belle Vernon, The Mt. Pleasant Vikings were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took down South Allegheny 42-27. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Mt. Pleasant's seven-point performance the contest before.
When it comes to explaining why South Allegheny lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cameron Epps. Despite the final result, he rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Tyreeke Chatman was another key contributor, rushing for 82 yards.
Mt. Pleasant's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for South Allegheny, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Mt. Pleasant will stay at home for another week and welcome Southmoreland at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Southmoreland will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for South Allegheny, they will head out on the road to face off against Greensburg Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greensburg Salem comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
