The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Lexington Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. The timing isn't great for Dutch Fork: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Lexington has snatched up 13 consecutive wins on the road.
Last Friday, Dutch Fork came up short against River Bluff and fell 57-46. Dutch Fork has not had much luck with River Bluff recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Dutch Fork saw an underclassman step up: Justus Bell scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Elgin Sessions was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Hopewell scored an imposing 79 points on Saturday, Lexington still came out on top. Lexington snuck past Hopewell with a 83-79 win. Given Lexington's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked third in South Carolina, while Hopewell is ranked 64th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dutch Fork has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Lexington, their win bumped their record up to 18-2.
Dutch Fork lost to Lexington at home by a decisive 47-28 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Dutch Fork avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
