This season hasn't been kind to the Athens Indians, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They were dealt a 60-28 loss at the hands of Pittsford on Wednesday. Athens lost against Pittsford in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 60-15 score last time.
Athens' loss came despite strong showings from Elijah Flynn and Addison Stanton. Flynn scored ten points, while Stanton scored nine points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for him.
Athens' loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Pittsford, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Athens will be home for the holidays to greet Mendon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mendon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday. Pittsford will be home for the holidays to greet Hillsdale Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hillsdale Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pittsford in Michigan (Hillsdale Academy is ranked 182nd, while Pittsford is ranked 479th).
