Cranston West has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the St. Raphael Academy Saints at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Friday, Cranston West was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-49 to the Cavaliers.
Despite their loss, Cranston West saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Maia Riccio, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Kyla Buco, who scored 11 points.
St. Raphael Academy has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They skirted past East Providence 47-44. 47 seems to be a good number for St. Raphael Academy as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Cranston West's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for St. Raphael Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-13.
Everything came up roses for Cranston West against the Saints in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 61-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cranston West since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
