The Senatobia Warriors came tearing into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against New Albany by a score of 62-52. The victory was all the more spectacular given Senatobia's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while New Albany is ranked 14th).
Despite the loss, New Albany saw an underclassman step up: Braden Shettles scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Ke?Lan Simpson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Senatobia's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for New Albany, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Senatobia will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pisgah at 1:45 p.m. on December 29th. New Albany's road trip will continue as they head out to face Amory at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Amory is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
