Jaedyne Armendariz was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Chapin got a massive performance out of Kaylynn Farmer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Farmer has posted since back in February of 2024. Briana Aponte was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Chapin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson only posted an OBP of .429.
Meanwhile, Canutillo got the win against Burges on Friday by a conclusive 14-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Giovanna Navarro spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Isabella Salazar was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those triples marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Khloe Borjas, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
Chapin's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Canutillo, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8-1.
Everything went Chapin's way against Canutillo in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Chapin made off with a 17-6 win. Will Chapin repeat their success, or does Canutillo has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
