Nathan Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Lakewood Ranch saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Sprague, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Parrish Community never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past Braden River 9-0. The Bulls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by nine runs or more this season.
Not much got past Wesley Anderson, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Braden River off the board. Anderson has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Parrish Community let Tyler Brown and Sam Torres run wild. Brown went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI, while Torres scored a run while going 2-for-4. Torres also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ja'Brien Quiles, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Parrish Community kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Braden River only managed two hits.
Parrish Community's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lakewood Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
