It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Jefferson County Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 30-17 victory over Seminary. The win was nothing new for Jefferson County as they're now sitting on four straight.
It was another big night for Jabari Watson, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 273 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Royale Shelvy, who picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Jefferson County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Seminary, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Jefferson County is on the road again on Friday and play against Noxubee County at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Noxubee County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jefferson County in Mississippi (Noxubee County is ranked 26th, while Jefferson County is ranked 90th). Seminary does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
