The Village Vikings were the 63-48 winner over the St. Thomas Catholic Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Village fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 66-64. Village has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
St. Thomas Catholic was led to victory by Evan Levy and Aron Valentine. Levy almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds, while Valentine scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. Caleb Kimble was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Village's defeat dropped their record down to 15-15. As for St. Thomas Catholic, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Village will square off against the Apaches on Friday. Antonian Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 games -- so hopefully the Vikings likes a good challenge. As for St. Thomas Catholic, they will head out on the road to challenge the Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Concordia Lutheran is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
