The Davenport Broncos stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They claimed a resounding 57-23 win over Osceola on the road. The victory was just what Davenport needed coming off of a 57-33 loss in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for Sorayah Emilien, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 steals. Emilien is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Destiny Kim was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three blocks.
Osceola's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jewelie Lazo, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Sippio, who scored six points.
Davenport's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Osceola, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-16.
Davenport will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Storm at 8:00 p.m. Celebration is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Osceola, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Poinciana focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 last Thursday.
