The Kuemper Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Glenwood Rams on Monday. Glenwood took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Kuemper, who comes in off a win.
Kuemper was handed a three-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Creston on Friday. Kuemper was the clear victor by a 59-34 margin over Creston. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Kuemper has posted since December 16, 2023.
Meanwhile, Glenwood unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were dealt a 60-29 defeat at the hands of Pender. While losing is never fun, Glenwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 101st in Iowa, while Pender is ranked tenth in Nebraska).
Kuemper's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9. As for Glenwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Kuemper skirted past Glenwood 53-50 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kuemper since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
