Last Thursday, Montverde Academy Regional ended up a good deal behind Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech and lost 65-50. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Montverde Academy Regional in their matchups with Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Southland Christian pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Harmony 61-57. It was the first time this season that Southland Christian let down their fans at home.
Despite the defeat, Southland Christian had strong showings from Derek Lopez, who scored 21 points, and Michael Pellot, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Juan Rios, who scored 13 points.
Montverde Academy Regional has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Southland Christian, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-7.
Montverde Academy Regional and Southland Christian were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, but Montverde Academy Regional came up empty-handed after a 75-74 defeat.
