Basketball Recap: Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Routt Catholic, Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They secured a 68-63 W over the Liberty Eagles. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Despite the defeat, Liberty saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Vince Cramsey posted 26 points and five steals. With that strong performance, Cramsey is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Reed Sparrow, who put up 19 points.

Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia's victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-1. As for Liberty, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia and Liberty should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia (ranked 126th) will meet Seymour (ranked 493rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Liberty (ranked 254th) will meet Beardstown (ranked 571st) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
