Riverside is 2-8 against Spring Valley since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Riverside and Oak Hill, and Oak Hill kept the tradition alive. The Warriors fell 8-3 to the Red Devils on Tuesday.
Caden Lipscomb and Eli Burke stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lipscomb went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Burke went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That stolen base marked the first that Lipscomb has snagged this season.
Meanwhile, Spring Valley strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Wayne get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory.
Spring Valley also got a great performance from Gage Roberts as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Roberts a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gabe Chambers, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Caiden Lovejoy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Spring Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wayne only posted a batting average of .000.
Spring Valley's record now sits at 3-0. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Riverside has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Spring Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Riverside couldn't quite finish off Spring Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 and fell 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
