Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only O'Dea walked away with it. They took their match at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-0 win over Auburn Riverside. Considering O'Dea has won nine contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jason Brown jr was a one-man wrecking crew for O'Dea as he rushed for 239 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries. Brown jr was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. Kyan Mcdonald also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Mt. Spokane typically have all the answers at home, but on Saturday Garfield proved too difficult a challenge. Garfield managed a 28-22 win over Mt. Spokane. The win made it back-to-back wins for Garfield.
O'Dea has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 10-0 record. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.21 points. As for Garfield, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Everything came up roses for O'Dea against Garfield when the teams last played back in October as the squad secured a 49-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for O'Dea since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
