Section 3 Class C - North recap October 22, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Thousand Islands, who defeated 362nd ranked Lowville, 32-18.
Immaculate Heart Central scaled the state rankings by moving to 130 from 174 this week, the biggest jump in Section 3 Class C - North. The Cavaliers were able to move up by topping General Brown 28-26.
Immaculate Heart Central's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Cole Carpenter threw for 262 and 3 touchdowns and Jude Whalen had 109 yards receiving. On the ground Whalen chipped in 41 yards. Haden Baker helped Immaculate Heart Central's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 68 yards.
Whalen was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 41 yards on 4 carries as Paul Alteri's team topped the Lions. Teammate Michael Marra added to the ground attack by rushing for 17 yards.
Immaculate Heart Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cavaliers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Carpenter has thrown for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Nick Koelmel has 30 catches for 388 yards.
The Cavaliers added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating General Brown, 28-26. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
