Forest Park is 0-5 against Poly since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Forest Park Foresters will head out on the road to face off against the Poly Engineers at 5:15 p.m. Forest Park is looking to tack on another W to their ten-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Forest Park has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 80-5 victory over Mergenthaler Vo-Tech on the road.
Aliyah Carroll was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. NaJae Malik-El was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Poly put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Western 56-37.
Poly can attribute much of their success to M. Lowry, who scored 16 points, and London Elliot, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Lowry set a new season high mark in steals with two. Another player making a difference was C. Mills, who scored no points.
Forest Park's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Poly, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-0.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Forest Park have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 16.2 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Poly, though, as they've been averaging only 26.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Forest Park took a serious blow against Poly when the teams last played back in January, falling 53-22. Can Forest Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
