The Big Sandy Wildcats's six-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They breezed by Ore City at home to the tune of 96-59. The result was nothing new for Big Sandy, who have now won five matchups by 29 points or more so far this season.
Big Sandy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayden Smith out in front who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 3 assists. Smith continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ka'myrie Fountain, who scored 18 points along with six steals and five assists.
Big Sandy's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Ore City, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Big Sandy will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Jefferson at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th. Jefferson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Big Sandy in Texas (Jefferson is ranked 355th, while Big Sandy is ranked 1150th). Ore City will finish 2023 at home by hosting Harts Bluff at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th. Harts Bluff will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
