Meanwhile, La Vega came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 56.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Connally, posting a 67-28 win at home. Given La Vega's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Connally is ranked 150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
La Vega had a senior duo take command as Mar?Cyah Willis scored 17 points along with four steals and Kiyleyah Parr scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Willis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Mckinney, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Salado's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for La Vega, their win was their 15th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-8.
Salado was dealt a bruising 73-22 defeat at the hands of La Vega in their previous meeting on January 5th.
