On Friday, Wagner was out to avenge their 0-38 loss to Mt. Vernon/Plankinton from the last time they squared off against one another, but the team left empty-handed. Wagner were given a punishing 7-58 loss at the hands of Mt. Vernon/Plankinton. This makes it the second loss in a row for Wagner.
The defeat dropped Wagner's record to 0-2. The win bumped Mt. Vernon/Plankinton's record up to 2-0.
Next week, Wagner take on Stanley County at 7:00 PM. Neither Wagner nor Stanley County could muster much offensive firepower in their last games, so look to the defense to decide this one. As for Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, they will face of against Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central.
