The Kewaunee Storm will venture away from home to challenge the Valders Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Kewaunee's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Valders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Kewaunee's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over Crivitz.
Brady Pribek was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Diesel Bosdeck and Waylon Delain did most of the damage at the plate: Bosdeck went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI, while Delain went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Bosdeck a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alec Carlson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Valders came up short against Chilton on Thursday, falling 15-3.
Lucas Spindler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Wendling, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Kewaunee's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Valders, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Kewaunee has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Valders struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Kewaunee suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Valders in their previous matchup back in May of 2019. Can the Storm avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
