Baseball Game Preview: Green Bobcats vs. Fairview Eagles

The Green Bobcats will square off against the Fairview Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Green is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Green beat St. Joseph Central 7-2. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Flyers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Jonathan Knapp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Riddick Jenkins, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Blevins, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Fairview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lewis County.

Fairview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan McCormick, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Green's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Fairview, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Green has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fairview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Green was able to grind out a solid victory over Fairview in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 6-2. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
