Middletown South is 1-0 against Donovan Catholic since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Middletown South Eagles will be playing at home against the Donovan Catholic Griffins at 7:00 p.m. Middletown South will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Donovan Catholic is ranked sixth).
Two weeks ago, Middletown South came up short against Red Bank Catholic and fell 25-14.
Meanwhile, Donovan Catholic got themselves on the board against Red Bank Regional on Friday, but Red Bank Regional never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 41-0 victory over the Bucs on the road. The result was nothing new for Donovan Catholic, who have now won three matches by 28 points or more so far this season.
Among those leading the charge was Todd Lambertson, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 71 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach LaBarca, who rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Donovan Catholic's victory bumped their season record to 6-1 while Middletown South's defeat dropped theirs to 3-3.
