After flying high against the Tarpon Springs Spongers last Friday, the Anclote Sharks came back down to earth. Anclote was outmatched by Sunlake at home and fell 66-28. Anclote has not had much luck with Sunlake recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Sunlake's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Krystal Hyde, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and eight steals. That's the first time this season that Hyde scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was mackenzie medrano, who scored 13 points along with nine assists and eight steals.
Anclote now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Sunlake, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Anclote will head out on the road to face off against Wesley Chapel at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Wesley Chapel presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Anclote in Florida (Wesley Chapel is ranked 207th, while Anclote is ranked 425th). Sunlake will be home for the holidays to greet Fivay at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
