Frederick was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in 3A Northern. Earlier in the week, the Warriors defeated Centaurus 35-7.
Frederick took down the Warriors 35-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jacob Sleeth ran for 122 yards and caught two passes for 40 yards in the win.
David Sommers provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Holy Family defeated Erie. He completed 10 passes for 188 yards and also ran for 115 yards. Sommers' favorite target this week was Ryan Schafer, who caught two passes for 73 yards.
Nick Lednev threw for 83 yards and three touchdowns. He went six-eight with one interceptions.
Pedro Anderson was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 34 carries, he ran for 195 yards as the Tigers beat Centaurus. Joey Ramey also contributed to the rushing game with 107 yards on the ground.
Broz was the best wideout in the league this week as the Warriors topped Chad Senseney's team. Broz tallied five receptions for 121 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Sommers and Jarred Deherrera the Tigers have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Sommers leads the league in passing with 1164 yards, while Deherrera has rushed for 936 yards this season. Denver North's Simeon Freeland leads the league in receiving yards with 305 on 21 catches.
The top two teams in 3A Northern will face off this week when first place Holy Family takes on second place Frederick. Holy Family beat Erie last week, while Frederick topped the Warriors.
Mike Gabriel's team's Deherrera is a mere 64 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Tigers take on Frederick. Holy Family's offense has scored 235 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Warriors have allowed only 81 on the year.
Centaurus made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,297 from 11,967. The improvement came about via a 35-7 victory over the Warriors last week.
