The Whitney Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Rocklin Thunder at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated (Whitney has three wins , while Rocklin has four dating back to last season).
It was a proper cat-fight when Whitney faced off against Roseville on Wednesday. Whitney never let Roseville get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Four seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Paige Tamblyn looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma Rabe, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Flindt, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one triple.
Meanwhile, Rocklin was able to grind out a solid win over Vista del Lago on Tuesday, taking the game 7-3.
Cat Alston made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she stole this season.
In other batting news, Katie Wetteland was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Brooke Lomelli also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Rocklin hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.
Whitney's record now sits at 3-0. As for Rocklin, their record is now 4-0.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Whitney has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Rocklin struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Whitney skirted past Rocklin 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will Whitney repeat their success, or does Rocklin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
