Sunnybrook Christian put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Monday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 100-42 victory over Vanguard Christian. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for two points.
Gabe Minica and Christian Huber were among the main playmakers for Sunnybrook Christian as the former scored 25 points and the latter scored 34 points. Huber has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Bard, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Lifegate Christian didn't have too much trouble with the Thunder on the road on Friday as they won 46-32. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lifegate Christian.
Lifegate Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rowe Hansen, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Hansen hasn't dropped below two blocks for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Blaine Harvey, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Sunnybrook Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season. As for Lifegate Christian, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.
Tuesday's matchup is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Sunnybrook Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lifegate Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
