After two games on the road, Providence Prep is heading back home. They will take on the Meridian Lions at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Providence Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Monday.
Providence Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They really took it to Methodist Children's Home for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-16 victory on the road. Providence Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 27 points or more this season.
Lilly Hodge continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alice Illian, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Meridian, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They took a 37-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harmony Science Academy last Tuesday.
Providence Prep's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Meridian, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-9.
Everything came up roses for Providence Prep against Meridian when the teams last played back in November of 2023 as the squad secured a 43-13 victory. Will Providence Prep repeat their success, or does Meridian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
